Pride shines bright at PHS!

Payson High School is place where traditional values and innovative strategies combine to provide students with a fully-accredited high school experience. Dedicated administrators, faculty, staff, counselors, school resource officers, coaches, advisors and volunteers prepare students for post-secondary education and 21st-century workforce and family life.

PHS offers a wide and deep array of academic courses augmented by challenging Advanced Placement classes. Our Career Technical Education programs are second to none in rural Arizona high schools.  All classes weave academic standards into their curriculum.  Fine arts and athletics round out class schedules at PHS.

 Extracurricular and cocurricular activities include division 3A-East sports, band, chorus, award-winning drama, student government and a variety of clubs to capture any student’s interest. We believe that extracurricular activities support student achievement and encourage every student to participate in enriching activities.

 Payson High School’s size, according to recent research, is optimum size at 850 students. Staff members know students, and mutually respectful relationships extending far beyond the high school years are established.
